Demolition of former Rieger Medical Supply space under way

Thursday, April 7 2016 8:25 AM

The demolition of the former Rieger Medical Supply building is under way to make way for a redevelopment project.

Tom Schmeidler, of SBA Construction and a group of investors purchased the property, which is near the southwest corner of Central and Hillside, and are working on a redevelopment plan, but aren’t saying much about what they intend to do.

“Something new and exciting is coming in 2017,” Schmeidler says.

He says construction crews are limited on what they can do because there is still a tenant in one of the buildings.

Rieger, meanwhile, closed last summer after nearly 90 years in business.
