Commercial activity is coming soon to the vacant land surrounding NewSpring Church and 21st and K-96 in northeast Wichita.

The Eye Gallery, a local eye-care clinic, purchased a portion of that land in December and has plans to build a 10,000 square-foot retail strip to relocate from its current office across the street.

At the new building, the Eye Gallery will take up about 7,400 square feet and plans to lease out the remaining 2,500 square feet.

At their current space, they can’t see any more patients due to minimal space. “The list is getting too long to be able to meet our patient’s needs” said Aaron Baldwin, the developer on the project whose wife, Megan Baldwin is the optometrist and owner of the eye practice. The new space will include six exam rooms, and the clinic plans to hire one or two more doctors- along with more space for retail and new eye care services.

They would love to help somebody move in and help grow their business with their patient flow. Baldwin said, “We’re definitely open to everything”.

Craig Simon of Landmark Commercial Real Estate is marketing the listing for the space. He also handled the December transaction for the Eye Gallery.

Jaco General Contractor is the builder on the project, and GLMC is the architect.
