From Aging Retail Center to Creative Business Hub

Landmark Commercial Real Estate is proud to be part of the transformation taking place at Hyde’s Addition, an emerging neighborhood destination at Hydraulic and Kellogg that is bringing new energy, creativity, and investment to Wichita’s historic Hyde Park area.

Local entrepreneurs and business owners Janelle King and Paige Jordan recently acquired the former retail center that housed The Other Place, with plans to create a vibrant collection of independent businesses centered around their new concept, The Velvet Tiger. Their vision extends beyond opening a neighborhood bar. They are thoughtfully curating a destination where local businesses can thrive together and contribute to the area’s continued growth.

Landmark’s Elizabeth Farha and Clay Gagnon have been selected to market the available retail spaces within Hyde’s Addition, helping connect prospective tenants with an opportunity to become part of one of Wichita’s most exciting neighborhood redevelopment projects. Available spaces range from approximately 800 to 2,200 square feet and are ideally suited for boutique retail, wellness concepts, creative services, personal care businesses, and other locally driven ventures.

As momentum continues to build in Hyde Park, with nearby destinations including White Crow Cider, Central Standard Brewing, Cafe on Me, and Goldfinch, Hyde’s Addition represents the next chapter in the area’s evolution. The project reflects a shared commitment between ownership and Landmark to foster a unique mix of businesses that create vibrancy, encourage collaboration, and strengthen the surrounding neighborhood.

At Landmark Commercial Real Estate, we are passionate about helping bring transformative projects like Hyde’s Addition to life. By connecting entrepreneurs, investors, and growing businesses with the right opportunities, we are proud to play a role in shaping the future of Wichita’s emerging commercial districts.
