Developers plan transformation of former Food for Thought building that’s been vacant for 7 years

After it has sat empty for the last seven years, developers plan to transform the former Food for Thought building near Central and Hillside with a new use and an entirely new look.

Beau Hudson, a real estate investor and developer at Landmark Commercial Real Estate, is taking on the new project — a $2 million transformation that is “timely but flexible,” he said.

“We’re turning it into Class A medical,” Hudson says. “I just have a good feeling about that stretch between Hillside and Grove on Central.”

After 42 years in business, Food for Thought closed in 2013 and the one-story, L-shaped building has sat empty since.
