Half Price Books has been buying books and other items from the public since early October, but now the new store at Eastgate Plaza at Kellogg and Rock Road is opening so customers can start buying, too.
The first 100 shoppers on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday will receive tote bags and $5 gift cards. One shopper a day also will win a $100 gift card.
The store will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
Normal Sunday hours after this first one will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The chain, which has 125 stores in 17 states, buys and sells new and used books, movies, electronics, video games and music.
