Landmark expanding hospitality division

Landmark Commercial Real Estate is expanding its hospitality division.

The brokerage has added Jeff Walenta to that team to further assist hoteliers in acquiring and selling properties and on new projects in the region.

He says joining Landmark presented an opportunity to get back into transactional work.

Firm leaders say Walenta brings experience in the operations and revenue management of hotels.

“Jeff adds a new dimension and skill set to our hotel practice,” says Jim Korroch, who leads Landmark’s hospitality division. “He is extremely knowledgeable and well respected in the industry.”

Brad Saville, Landmark’s president, says the hospitality division represents a growth area for the firm. Walenta, he says, will help Landmark reach more hotel prospects.

Saville says Korroch is involved with the 126-room Aloft Wichita Northeast project that is under construction on the northeast corner of 35th Street North and Oliver and at least three other projects.

Saville says one involves the sale of an existing hotel, with the other two involving new hotel projects. All three are expected to close this year, Saville says.

Landmark launched its hospitality division last fall and is one of the few commercial real estate brokerages statewide with a dedicated hospitality division. Korroch founded and continues to operate A.G. Hospitality Management Services in addition to his role with Landmark.
