Akeam currently serves as the Public Affairs Officer for the Eastern Oklahoma VA Health Care System, advising executive leadership and leading media strategy for major initiatives – including the groundbreaking VA partnership with the Cherokee Nation. His ability to distill complex topics into clear, actionable messaging makes him a trusted C-suite advisor.
Previously, he led communications for the Missouri Democratic Party and Sedgwick County Government, where he launched DEI programs, strengthened internal communications, and elevated public perception. A former journalist, Akeam’s storytelling expertise fuels his success in connecting with diverse audiences.
He holds a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism from Missouri State University and is pursuing a Master’s in Healthcare Administration.
